The largest Tall Ships event in Duluth’s history just got even bigger.  This summer on August 18 – 21, The World’s Largest Rubber duck will fly the coop and turn Lake Superior into her own personal bathtub.

Already slated to be the Greatest Spectacle on Superior, Tall Ships® Duluth continues to up the ante with additional and unique festival attractions, like their recently announced partnership with Art-in-the-Park that brings in more than 150 artists showcasing gallery quality art work.  Increasing excitement with every announcement, the addition of the super-sized bath toy adds to that anticipation.

“It’s really a fantastic compliment to the Tall Ships,” states Craig Samborski, executive producer of Tall Ships® Duluth 2016.  “The World’s Largest Rubber Duck inspires us to enjoy the world’s waterfronts and conserve our natural resources for future ducklings.”

While Duluth, Minnesota is no stranger to Tall Ships events, this is the first time hosting The World’s Largest Rubber Duck.  A welcome attraction for a location that’s perfect for such a humungous bath toy, Duluth’s Waterfront and the increased accessibility it provides for onlookers makes it the ideal venue to show off the duck’s larger-than-life proportions.  More than six stories high and 11 tons to be exact.

Circling the duck will be the main attraction, majestic Tall Ships® hailing from across the globe.  One such ship being the highly celebrated El Galeon Andalucia, a Spanish replica from the Spain West Indies Fleet that appears to have come straight out of Blackbeard’s quiver.

A plethora of additional attractions will be featured during the festival that include ship tours, day sails, educational programming, local food and beverage, live music, entertainment and fun for the entire family.

Tickets for the festival range from $9 – $95 with an additional, limited quantity Fast Pass option allowing front of line access to ships and zero wait time.
