My eight-year-old helped review a book series that was published just this year.  It is called ‘The Whimsy Wood Series’ featuring the adventures of Posie Pixie.  The series is recommended for children ages 4-12 and are available in paperback and ebook.

1. Posie Pixie and the Copper Kettle – Posie Pixie is without a home and is searching for a place to call her own that is more structurally sound.  She lived in a house made of poppies, but the petals flew away.  Posie runs into Rosa-May and her horse, Henry.  She is traveling the countryside with a covered wagon that has several pots and pans attached.  Posie Pixie helps Henry by removing a thorn from his hoof.  In favor, she asked for a copper kettle to be her house.

2. Posie Pixie and the Lost Matchbox – Posie Pixie has a bed made of leaves, but they are itchy.  She goes to Mrs. Scarlet, the squirrel, and asks for a different bed.  She is told to seek Raspberry Rabbit, a collector of many things, who helps her find a new bed.

3. Posie Pixie and the Torn Tunic – Posie Pixie heads out to go blackberry picking. and tore her tunic on a blackberry bush.  She sees Mrs. Spottisdowne and asks if she can repair her tunic.

4. Posie Pixie and the Fireworks party – Mr. Bilberry, the mailman, gives Posie Pixie a letter from her cousin, Ping, who invents fireworks.  Ping is coming over with fireworks to kick off an amazing celebration.

5. Posie Pixie and the Christmas Tree – Mr. and Mrs. Dusty sing Christmas carols and share their inviting sounds with Posie Pixie.  Mr. Dusty works with trees and offers to bring Posie Pixie a tree the next day.  She has fun decorating the tree.  It’s the most spectacular tree she has ever seen.

My daughter who reads at the fifth grade level found this series to be a fun, quick read.  Author Sarah Hill transports children to a whimsical, enchanted woodland with unique wildlife characters excluding Rosa-May who appears to be human and Posie Pixie, a pixie.  The books have large print that easy to follow.  Several images are included that are cute, colorful, and help provide imagery to spur your child’s imagination.Posie Pixie

Author Sarah Hill is a small animal vet. She gained her degree in Veterinary Medicine from Bristol University in 1999 andworked in practice for 10 years. At that point she had her second daughter and soon after she decided to take a career break. She now writes her children’s series, ‘Whimsy Wood’, at home in Wiltshire with her husband, two daughters, two dogs, two cats and a partridge in a pear tree. Their third child has just arrived.

Join Posie Pixie and her friends in a new adventure which has achieved an amazing record of 100% 5 star customer reviews! A Perfect Bound paperback with exquisite illustrations by the talented Sarah Mauchline. Printed from sustainable forests with 10% of the profits donated to the Wildlife Trusts. RRP £5.99 ‘The Whimsy Wood Series’ is available on Amazon.com and at http://www.abelapublishing.com.

Disclosure:  I received copies of this series to review.  No other compensation was received for this post.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
