My girls have experienced a milestone – losing their first tooth and the Tooth Fairy visiting our house. This can be an exciting and an even somewhat scary experience for children with the tooth getting wigggly and not knowing what will come next.
I would like to introduce Tug and the Tooth that was created to help support your child and celebrate losing their first tooth. This product was created by a mom here in Minnesota named Heidi Whitaker. 🙂
Tug and the Tooth provides your child with a 34 page hardcover book and a lovable tooth pillow named Tug.
Tug carries a backpack for your child to place their tooth as they await for the Tooth Fairy to exchange it with something special. Tug is to support a child when he or she has a loose tooth.
My second daughter ironically had a wiggly tooth when Tug and the Tooth arrived. It wasn’t her first tooth, but she got to have Tug and this book to make the exchange with the Tooth Fairy more special.
The storybook has a diagram of teeth for you to record when your child loses them and use later as a keepsake.
In the story of Tug and the Tooth, a girl named Liza has a wiggly tooth. Her father presents her with a lovable pillow shaped like a tooth named Tug. He is to keep Liza’s tooth safe when she loses it and comfort her worries of losing it.
When night comes, Tug takes Liza on a journey to Tirol, where the Tooth Fairy lives. The run into a cow, bear, beavers on their way to the Tooth Fairy’s castle that congratulate Lize on losing her first tooth soon and talk about the importance of taking care of her teeth so they last the rest of her life.
When they finally reach the castle, Tug explains how new experiences may seem scary. If you believe in yourself, you can accomplish anything. They don’t get to meet the tooth fairy because the sun is rising and morning is approaching. Tug takes Liza back home and the next day Liza loses her wiggly tooth. As you look through the book with your child, try to spot the 7 hidden tooth fairies.
Tug and the Tooth has a suggested retail price of $29.95 and is available online at www.TugAndTheTooth.com. This product is recommended for children 3+.
