Unfortunately over the years, I have had my share of things go missing. Some items have certainly been more important/valuable than others. TrackR bravo helps you find your things so hopefully your list of things forever lost becomes less or a thing of the past. This product was created about seven years ago after the founders were locked out of their car because the keys had gone missing.
This device is roughly the size of a quarter, is wireless, and 1 mm thick. It comes with an optional 3M sticker back or split ring to attach it to your item. TrackR bravo is compatible with iOS 8 and up and also Android 4.4 and later with Bluetooth Low Energy. TrackR bravo works world-wide.
Once you have your TrackR bravo, you will want to install the app. The app can be found in the App Store or on Google Play and is free.
After you have the app on your device, it needs to pair via Bluetooth with your TrackR.
When TrackR is paired with your device, it does unlock it. A warning pops up stating that if someone does take you phone when it is near your Trackr, they may be able to access your phone. :-/
Then the TrackR device can be placed on your item and you can find where it is with the distance indicator or item ringer. You can also press the button on your TrackR to locate your phone if you have misplaced it, even if it is on silent. Bluetooth must be turned on for this features to work. If someone else has the TrackR app on their device and Bluetooth on, Crowd GPS works by then sending you a GPS update if they are in range (within 100 feet) of the device and the item it is attached to.
TrackR bravo is shielded with anodized aluminum to make it thin and durable. The battery lasts about a year and is replaceable with a CR1616 battery. TrackR bravo starts off at $29.99 for a single unit and has free shipping in the U.S. There are no other fees associated with the device. You own it after you buy it and it does not have monthly fees. TrackR bravo is water-resistant, not water proof.
I found the TrackR bravo very easy to install and it has an attractive compact design. It is also nice that the batteries can be replaced.
As far as cons, I try not to leave Bluetooth running on my phone because I thought it would drain the battery faster. I did have issues where after initially pairing the device, my phone would search for the TrackR bravo after turning Bluetooth back on and had a hard time pairing even thought it was definitely within range. Some may be disheartened by the fact that TrackR bravo causes the screen lock to be disabled and leaves the phone more vulnerable if someone else finds it before you.
