One thing you may not have known about me is that I am plagued by fine hair. It is fairly thick, but it likes to stay flat and can be difficult to hold curls. I had noticed that I was losing more hair than I used to with being in my mid-30’s. Maybe due to more stress? I am not sure.I was sent Therapy-G‘s System Starter Kit for fine or thinning hair and hair loss last month. The kit I used is designed for chemically treated hair. Therapy-G also has a regular starter kit.
I decided to treat myself and invest more into my hair. I colored my hair the beginning of August and started using premium straighteners. I am normally a dishwater blonde and it is fun to change things up from time to time. Here is a picture of me from September that was professionally done at a blogger convention in Minnesota. I started Therapy-G November 21st.
Let me tell you about Therapy-G and the starter kit. Therapy-G has a three step approach to combat thinning or fine hair: cleanse, nourish, and also condition. The kit includes an antioxidant shampoo, follicle stimulator, conditioning treatment, and a hair volumizing treatment.
Therapy-G has a patented ingredient called Tryptobond Guard. It attaches itself to the hair and was made to protect the hair from every day stresses – sun damage, styling, surface damage, coloring, changes to tonality, and breakage.
The Therapy-G starter kit is for approximately 45 days. The starter kit for chemically treated hair is to protect color and promote thicker, fuller hair. The antioxidant shampoo, follicle stimulator, conditioning treatment, and hair volumizing treatment are included in 4.25 fl.oz sizes of each. The starter kit has a suggested retail of $48.25.
What do these four products do for my hair?
- Antioxidant Shampoo for chemically treated hair: provides deep cleaning of hair and scalp of sebum, removing DHT (didydotesterone – the no. 1 cause of genetic hair loss). It neutralizes toxins and free readicals. This shampoo stimulates blood circulation to the scalp and body builds hair. This product gave my scalp a tingly feeling, smelled good, and lathered well.
- Follicle Stimulator: delivers Tryptobond Guard to individual shafts of hair, nourishes the follicle for thicker, fuller hair, and stimulates blood circulation to scalp. This is to be applied after the Therapy-g Shampoo. I haven’t been using this product every day – about every third. It may cause temporary redness to scalp and forehead for about 25 minutes. I assume this is due to increasing the blood circulation. It has a fresh and almost awakening scent.
- Conditioning Treatment: delivers Tryptobond guard to individual shafts of hair. It detangles and does not weigh hair down. This product also stimulates the scalp, infuses moisture, relieves dryness, flaking and itching. Normally I can not use conditioner every day due to my hair feeling like it gets weighed down. This type of conditioner is perfect for every day use. It has a minty scent.
- Hair Volumizing Treatment: delivers Tryptobond Guard to individual hair shafts. It instantly volumizes, creating thicker, fuller, flexible hair. It protects the hair against styling stress. The volumizing treatment strengthens and nourishes the hair shaft and improves hair texture. This product gave my hair a lot of body, but yet the ability to continue styling. It did not create the stiff feeling that regular hair spray would for create me.
In conclusion, I noticed less hair loss when brushing, less static with my hair so far this winter, and I think my hair did appear thicker. My scalp looks healthier too.
I love Therapy-G’s hair volumizing treatment. It worked wonders giving my hair bounce and helping to hold curls. I took a picture of myself last Thursday. Maybe it is how my hair is parted, but it looks more full to me versus my Sept. photo.
The products included in this kit have a pleasant smell, not smelling like they were medicated like those you use for oral hygiene. It took a little bit to get used to the tingling sensation when using some of the products. I believe this is a temporary side effect to the products that work to increase blood circulation of the scalp. I would love to continue using Therapy-G on my hair.
