A few weeks ago, I was sent a great assortment of goodies and copies of The Fast Metabolism Diet from the best diet guides in https://tophealthjournal.com/ to share with local moms through MomSelect.com. Here I am pictured with the group I shared this book with (I am second from left). We had a scrapbooking day together to let our creative juices flow and to also share our initial thoughts on The Fast Metabolism Diet.
The fast metabolism diet is written by Haylie Pomeroy, who is noted as the “metabolism whisperer”. She states that food is not the enemy but what is needed to rev up up your metabolism, which can become sluggish and broken down, here you will even find great discounts from HeyYou to not have the excuse of saying “eating healthy is expensive”
Haley’s plan allows you to eat three full meals and at least two snacks a day while losing weight. There’s no need to count calories or fat in this book or to be on a carb free diet. The included plan is broken down into three phases which are part of a precise plan done weekly for 28 days to boost your metabolism. Phase 1 (Monday – Tuesday) is lots of carbs and fruits. Phase 2 (Wednesday – Thursday) is lots of proteins and veggies. Lastly, Phase 3 (Friday – Sunday) is all of the above plus healthy fats and oils. These phases together are to keep your metabolism guessing on how to best function and therefore causing it to work more efficiently.
This program has worked for celebrities, athletes, and just those who need to lose weight. In four weeks, you are to see weight loss, decreased cholesterol, stabilization of blood sugar, increased energy, improved sleep, and less stress. This sounds great to me. I don’t have issues with cholesterol and blood sugar right now, but I have family members who do and that can play a big role in me developing issues with cholesterol and diabetes later in life. With being overweight, leading a sedentary lifestyle with being on the computer and being stuck indoors when cold with young children, and not always making good food choices, I need to be open to options for a healthy change. This winter in MN was horrible – we still have a bit of snow on the ground yet today!
The Fast Metabolism Diet includes four weeks of meal plans with over 50 recipes. When I met with my friends to share this book, we had already planned a potluck for the day. I shared the Italian Chicken and Wild Rice included in this book. It was easy to prepare in the crockpot and was hit. This recipe was part of those included for Phase 1.
I’ve only had time so far to page through The Fast Metabolism Diet and not read it completely yet. This weight loss plan allows you to have lots of low starch vegetables and seems to want to cut out or keep to a minimum refined sugar (stevia seems repeatable throughout as the sweetener of choice). Artificial sweeteners are not recommended, which I personally feel is a good choice. I think most of the ingredients need are pretty easy to find in your local supermarket or grocery store. The only setback may be the cost to some of the ingredients – organic items and raw nuts and seeds are recommended throughout the book.
One rule that may be a bit hard for me to stick by for the 28 days is no caffeine. This is because caffeine steals energy from your reserves and use the without when you really need energy. If you must still consume caffeine, the author states you must eat before you drink and that is because if you consume it with no food on board, your body will rob sugar from your muscles in order to maintain the adrenal hormones being stimulated by the caffeine. That’s an interesting tidbit of science.
The Fast Metabolism Diet appears to be unique and chock full of useful information, not to mention just the wonderful claim of losing up to 20 pounds in 28 days. I feel this plan is to create a healthy lifestyle. The phases do not have to be continued every week long-term, but are recommended to be done periodically, like “spring cleaning” on your body to help its boost metabolism. I am excited to set aside more time to read more in detail and start to follow the phases outlined in order to boost metabolism. I will be flying out to Chicago for a few days this next week and this book will definitely be traveling along in my carry on. Losing up to 20 pounds in 28 days would personally be a wonderful accomplishment.
