Statistically, one in every eight women will develop a thyroid disorder. Men can get it too, but it is 5-8 times higher in women. Did you know that there are almost 50 different types of thyroid disorders? Wow!
This title appealed to me because I have a family member that has hypothyroidism and friends that have thyroid issues on both ends of the spectrum. I personally wanted to know more about this gland and what it does in the body.
The Complete Thyroid Health & Diet Guide starts off explaining the basics of the thyroid. I did not give this gland credit for all that it does and how mysteriously crummy you might feel when it is not functioning properly.
Chapter 11 brings you to The Balanced Thyroid Diet, which shortly after transitions into thyroid-healthy recipes. The recipes fill up about half of the book. These recipes work on promoting nutrition to help your thyroid work more effectively. There are meal plans too and they feature three meals a day plus a snack to keep you satisfied.
The Complete Thyroid Health & Diet Guide is a very interesting read. I think this would be a great book for anyone since thyroid disorders affect a large number of those in our society.
