Review:
I was brought up with often going to church when I was quite young until I was in grade school and then my family had a difference of opinion with the pastor. It led us stopping to go all-together. I wasn’t baptized until I was in college and then learning from the Bible did not enter my life again until motherhood so I really needed to brush up on God’s word.
This collection is an easy to read and is written for newbies like myself or anyone who hopes to gain a foundation of studying the Bible. In addition to the series of four books, there is a bonus section, the Study Guide, included with each book that is a few pages in length, located at the rear. The guide is also available at biblesavvy.com.
The four titles in this series:
- Book 1: Epic: The Storyline of the Bible unveils the single theme that ties all the various parts of scripture together: redemption.
- Book 2: Foundation: The Trustworthiness of the Bible explains that the Bible is God’s book, not merely man-made, and why it can be wholly trusted.
- Book 3: Context: How to Understand the Bible shows readers how to read the different parts of the Bible as they were meant to be read and how they fit together.
- Book 4: Walk: How to Apply the Bible helps readers put their greater understanding of the text into practice and how to draw real-life applications from it.
The Bible Savvy Series are four little books that are packed with knowledge and even a bit of humor making the teachings of the Bible seem less of a daunting task. The books in this series are not numbered, so do reference them online in order to find the order recommended for reading.
About Jim Nicodem:
JIM NICODEM has been the senior pastor of Christ Community Church since its start in 1984. Beginning with a group of six families, the church has grown to over five thousand people at four campuses.
