Duluth, Minnesota is no stranger to Tall Ships®, however Tall Ships® Duluth 2016 promises to be the largest event in the region’s history. Tall Ships® Duluth and Art in the Park have come together to create an unprecedented, one-of-a-kind Tall Ships® experience scheduled for August 18–21, 2016.
“Partnering with Art in the Park allowed us to make an excellent addition to an already impressive event,” stated Craig Samborski, executive producer of the festival. “Think of it as an event within an event. More than 150 artists will showcase their work, providing visitors the chance to purchase gallery quality art work,” added Samborski.
The spectacular event will fill Duluth’s Waterfront, Bayfront Festival Park and Harbor Drive with all the merriment TallShip® festival goers have come to enjoy, just way more of it. Ship tours, day sails, educational programming, a huge bevy of fantastic fare, re-enactors, curated beer garden, entertainment, live music and unlimited fun for the entire family — And of course, majestic Tall Ships sailing in from all over the world.
With more yet to come, an impressive list of nine ships have already been invited, with several new to the event that include:
- Norwegian Viking Ship Draken Harald Harfagre
- Spanish Ship El Galeon Andalucia
- General George Patton’s Personal Yacht When and If
- Schooner Mist of Avalon
