The school year has ended for my daughter and I’m sure many children will also be leaving the classroom soon if not already. The days of summer are soon approaching. It’s time to think about gear, clothes, equipment, and outdoor games for the family.
Shopping online provides convenience with placing the order and delivery. It also helps me retain a bit of my sanity with not having to wrangle up my crew of little people and going out to the store. I was given a $100 Visa gift card recently from Box Tops For Education for the sole purpose of shopping at the Box Tops For Education Marketplace site and was asked to share my shopping experience.
The Marketplace has over 300 online retailers like Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, Land’s End, Target, or specialty shops like Young Explorers and Build a Bear Workshop. Before searching for your store, you do want to sign up and designate the school you want to partner with to receive you eBoxTops as part of your online purchase.
When searching for online retailers, you can also view member-only money-saving offers, like a percentage off or free shipping. The right side of the screen will show your selected school’s BTFE goal and how much of that goal has already been reached.
Participating online retailers have different eBox Top values, like Land’s End is 2 eBox Tops per $10 spent or Target is 1 eBox Top per $10 spent. I had selected Wal-Mart, which is 0.50 eBox Top per $10 spent.
My kids have been wanting to go camping and our old tent had some issues so I went online in search of a replacement. Wal-Mart had this Ozark Trail 20′ x 10′ tent for $139 plus tax.
A few days later, I received an e-mail notification stating that I received eBox Tops from my purchase.
This image shows that I earned $1.58 for my school. I earned 13.9 eBox Tops (valued at $0.10 each) from the tent purchase, which is equal to $1.39 and had another small purchase that earned $0.19 to equal the $1.58 reflected on this screen capture.
It was very easy to select my retailer through the BTFE Marketplace and order. I had the purchase delivered to my door, which was painless on my end. Now I just have to handle my children questioning on when our first camping trip of the summer will be. This purchase earned my school a little money in the process too.
