Strategy Game of Cute and Colorful Sheep

Battle Sheep

Blue Orange Games has created a unique and fun game for families called Battle Sheep.  This game is recommended for children ages 7 and up and you can play with 2-4 players.  The average play time is awesome for kids with being around 15 minutes.  ðŸ™‚  The goal is to have your herd occupy the most of the board pieces (pastures).

Battle Sheep

This strategic sheep game comes with an illustrated rule book, 16 pasture tiles, and 65 durable plastic sheep tokens.  Look at these humorous sheep tokens.  My kids had fun just flipping through the tiles to see all of the expressions and poses of the sheep.  There are four different colors of sheep:  black, white, red, and blue.  It is one color per player.

To flock to greener pasture, each player takes their color, which is 16 sheep tokens and also 4 pasture tiles at the start of each game.  The pasture tiles can be laid down differently each time you play.  All playing pasture tiles need to be connected by at least one side.

The youngest player will start off the game by placing their sheep stack on a hexagon located on the outer perimeter of one of their pasture tiles.  During the following turns, they split the stack and must leave at least one sheep tile behind and eventually spread out over the board.  The sheep must travel in straight lines and you can not jump over or occupy the same space as your own or an opponents stack of sheep.  The sheep will spread out over the pasture and the winner will have claimed the largest portion of pasture.  Each playing game is a new adventure.

You can even block opponents sheep stacks or accidentally trap your own!  Battle Sheep has already received numerous awards such a Parent’s Choice Award and a Tillywig Award.  I would say the age suggestions are pretty accurate.  My five-year-old can play with help on strategy.  Battle Sheep is a flock of fun!  ðŸ™‚

Blue Orange Games Battle Sheep has a suggested retail of $24.99.  To learn more, please visit the Blue Orange Games store and preview the YouTube video on how to play below.

Disclosure:  I received a Battle Sheep game in exchange for an honest review.  No other compensation was received for this post.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
