Well, little Jayden (Jay-Bird) as we call her still had areas of raised bumps through Tues. night and had a few more doses of Benadryl before yesterday morning. I called and left a message for our family physician before he and his nurse were in yesterday morning and got a call back late morning that they were going to switch our little girl’s eye antibiotic.
We started the new drops at 4 p.m. yesterday. This one is directed to give every two hours, not fun with a 2 1/2-year-old! Jayden’s rash became more apparent as the evening progressed again. Then back on the Children’s Benadryl.
The ingredients of the two eye medications were not at all the same. Jeff and I were trying to think what was causing her to have skin reactions, now thinking it may not have been the eye med like we initially thought. We are starting to suspicion that has something to do with the aluminum boat that Jeff is replacing the wood of the interior on and applying new carpet. She has been up in it and this may correlate with her skin issues. Nothing else is new. I used some Episencial cream on her skin and that seemed to help this afternoon.
It is just trial and error for us at this point. We hope to try the second eye medication again tomorrow morning if her skin is calm and no more up in the boat while daddy is working. We haven’t had reaction issues with our kids before so this is all new territory for us.
