Sheer Cover Studio Makeup Review #FlawlessFinish

September 4, 2014 by Karen

Sheer Cover StudioI’ve written in the past on how I don’t use much makeup.  Usually it is consists of eye shadow, mascara, and maybe a lip balm before heading out the door.  With the normal process of aging and sun exposure, I have noticed a wrinkles and a few brown spots starting to hang around on my face.  I like a natural look and had the opportunity to try Sheer Cover Studio makeup.

I was sent the following by Sheer Cover™ Studio:

  • Perfect Shade® Mineral Foundation in medium
  • Conceal and Brighten Trio in light/medium
  • Sun-Kissed Bronzing Minerals
  • Lengthening Mascara Plus Lash Extending Fibers
  • Base Perfector PrimerIMG_1264
  • Studio Foundation Brush
  • Studio Concealer Brush
  • Studio Bronzing Brush
  • Countouring Brush (in Pic 1)

IMG_1671After your face has been cleansed and moisturized,  the Base Perfector Primer can be applied in a thin layer over the face.  It is a light-diffusing primer that helps prep the skin before applying the concealer and foundation.  It provides a shine-free finish to lessen wrinkles and imperfections and contains protective antioxidants, like vitamin E and green tea too.   Once the Base Perfector Primer has dried, Sheer Cover® makeup may be applied.IMG_1668I took almost all of the photos of myself by myself and unfortunately after a short night of sleep so please bear with me.  Here I am before the primer.  The primer is a white cream that goes on smoothly with not much weight and has a light fragrance that isn’t notable for very long.

After the primer has been applied, then it is on to the Conceal & Bright Tri-Concealer.  It’s recommended to use the Sheer Cover Studio Concealer Brush or you can use your fingertips and dab it under the eye area and on any blemishes, like scars, rosacea, hyperpigmentation, birthmarks, spider veins, or even to decrease the redness from acne.  The shades of concealer may be blended to create a perfect color match.  This product can be applied under the brow bones and at the inner and outer corners of each eye  to brighten areas of the face.IMG_1673I applied the Conceal & Brighten Trio under my eyes and to a scab I had healing under my lower lip. IMG_1674Then it’s onto the Perfect Shade® Mineral Foundation.IMG_1677Gently tap or shake a small amount of foundation into the lid of the jar and dip the Sheer Cover Studio Foundation brush into the lid and tap of any excess powder.  Apply in a circular motion from the outside of the face and work inward.  Blend it over your cheeks, nose, chin, and forehead to help cover imperfections.

A small amount of moisturizer can be placed in the palm of your hand with a small amount of Perfect Shade® Mineral Foundation and blended too.  This allows you to make your own custom-blended tinted moisturizer.IMG_1678

IMG_1683The Sun-Kissed Bronzing Minerals can be lightly dusted on the areas of face that need highlighting.  This can be achieved with the Sheer Cover Studio Foundation Brush or a blush brush.  I usually use it on my forehead, tip of nose, and over cheekbones.  You may reapply throughout the day as needed.  It can even be applied to  the eyelids for a light, shimmery appearance.IMG_1684

To bring drama to the eyelashes or in my case just be able to see them, apply 1-2 coats of the Lengthening Mascara to the lashes to create a base for something I have never used before, Lash Extending Fibers from Sugarlash Pro.IMG_1687

IMG_1689Here is my eye with two coats of mascara as the base and a layer of lash extending fibers.IMG_1697Follow with another coat of Lengthening Mascara.  This will help adhere the fibers to your lashes.IMG_1695The eye on the left has mascara and fibers.  The eye to the right is untouched.IMG_1704I applied some eye shadow and lipstick that I had on hand to add a little color.  Below is a picture my oldest daughter took of the night.  🙂IMG_1720Overall, I feel Sheer Cover™ Studio makeup seems easy to use.  The products for the skin feel light, almost like nothing is on.  With applying three coats of mascara and fibers, I could feel a bit of added weight to my lashes with those two products, but on the plus side, my lashes were finally visible!

To learn move about Sheer Cover™, please check out their website.  Their products are paraben free, not tested on animals, and I believe free of fragrance outside of the Base Perfector Primer.

Sheer Cover™ offers a 60 day guarantee.  If you are not fully satisfied with the product, return it within 60 days for a full refund minus shipping & handling.

Disclosure:  I received a product in exchange for an honest review.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.  No other compensation was received.
