I had been using a Shark Steam Mop to tackle regular floor cleaning and a Swiffer Wet Jet for the quick clean-up jobs in my home. Shark has recently introduced their Steam & Spray Pro. It takes the features of an electronic steam mop and a spray mop and combines them into an all-in-one unit.
The Shark Steam & Spray Pro comes with the following:
· A handle
· Steam head
· Spray head
· 1 disposable cleaning pad
· 1 washable cleaning pad
· Steam energized hard floor cleaner
· Filling flask
· 4 pack of AA batteries
· Manual and quick user guide
There are two steps for cordless everyday cleaning.
1. Prep
· Vacuum or sweep up any loose dirt or debris
· Attach the spray mop head to the unit
· Attach the disposable pad
· Insert the hard floor cleanser into the unit
2. Clean
· Spray and mop in the desired area
· Allow the floor to dry
Velcro strips are on the bottom of the head to hold the SaniFiber disposable pad in place. Each disposable pad covers approximately 400 sq. feet, depending on how dirty your floors are.
A spray button can be found on the handle in front of the ergonomic hand grip.
A bottle of Shark Hard Floor Cleanser is provided with the unit. It comes with a regular screw on cap that needs to be replaced before the first use. There is a special cap included so the bottle can then snap into the well on the handle. Simply hold the cleanser bottle and pull up on it when you need to remove and replace it.
Shark Steam & Spray Pro has a built-in light that comes on when the spray button is compressed to better illuminate dark areas when cleaning.
With either head attached, the Steam & Spray Pro has quite a bit of flexibility in regard to angling the handle.
The steam & spray mop head leaves your floors 99.9% sanitized. It is of course best to vacuum and sweep loose dirt or debris before using.
1. Prep
· Attach the pad to the steam mop head
· Fill the steam mop head with water
· Attach the steam mop head to the unit
· Insert the hard floor cleanser into the unit
· Plug in the unit
1. Clean
· Spray and mop the desired area
· Allow to dry
The handle has an easy to use head release button near its base to switch back and forth between the two head styles.
The cloth pad also attaches with Velcro onto this head.
To maintain the unit, it is recommended to always use distilled water. There is a reservoir at the back of the head for filling.
To start the steam release, you have to step gently onto the back of the steam head to release the handle. You can also press the spray button and apply the cleaning solution to tackle stuck on messes. No rinsing is required.
Unplug the unit and remove the multi-layer washable cleaning pad when done. If you have used steam, wait for the unit to cool down before removing the pad.
The cloth pad is to be washed separately with warm water in the washing machine or by hand with liquid detergent. Bleach and fabric softeners should not be used. The pad should be dried on the low setting or line dried. It is recommended to replace the steam pad every 3-4 months following normal use or after 20 washes.
Overall, the Shark Steam and Spray Pro SS460 Series (MSRP $129) is quite handy with the two convertible mop heads. I leave the head with the disposable pad on to tackle spills and then the steam and spray head comes out for weekly cleaning and disinfecting.
Shark Hard Floor Cleanser has helped restore some of the shine to our hardwood laminate flooring. I have steam cleaned our ceramic tile too. With either head, the unit effortlessly swivels for easy maneuverability.
This model features a 355 ml water reservoir and comes with 20 feet of electrical cord. It cleans a pass 11.5” wide and there is one steam setting. Shark Steam and Spray Pro is available at Walmart and is recommended for hardwood floors.
This model has one steam setting and the water reservoir is 355 ml. The cord is a generous 20 feet in length.
