Blueberry Muffin Starters #956
I love fresh muffins in the morning, but time wise, I have to bake them the night before. Schwan’s has a way to make them fresh in the morning. Blueberry Muffin Starters come as a box of 18 pre-portioned muffin batter. You can use the frozen batter to make muffins, bread, coffee cake, or dessert and no dirty mixing bowls. Yea!
Since I used Blueberry Muffin Starters as morning muffins, I placed the frozen batter “pucks” in 1 1/2 muffin pans. I made these as a single puck per muffin well, but you can double the pucks and make larger muffins. Blueberry Muffin Starters bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 26-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. The cook time would be longer for the large muffins. The muffins may be done with paper liners or nonstick cooking spray in the muffin pan wells.
Blueberry Muffin Starters are made with whole blueberries. They are moist and light. Blueberry muffins are a nice start to the morning, a snack at work, or afternoon snack for the kids when they get home from school. There is a recipe for an optional and simple lemon glaze that I did try on the muffins served to my family. Yum!
1 puck/regular muffin is a serving. This 18 piece box set is $9.37 and can be viewed on p. 37 of Schwan’s Shopping Guide Sept.-Oct. 2013.
Lasagna Roll Ups #400
I love Italian so this was a treat. Lasagna Roll Ups are hand-rolled lasagna pasta sheets filled with ricotta, Romano, mozzarella, Fontina, and Parmesan cheeses. You can add your own meat, vegetables, or sauce. This package consists of 4 – 6 oz. individually wrapped roll ups. The picture of the product has sauce applied, but please note it is not included in the box.
Lasagna Roll Ups may be prepared in the microwave + oven or just in the oven. My hubby went for the oven only method. If you use the microwave, you will need microwave safe plastic wrap.
He placed a layer of homemade spaghetti sauce on the bottom of the pan and then placed the four roll ups in a baking dish.
Then he covered the roll ups with more sauce, grated Parmesan cheese and shredded mozzarella. Lasagna Roll Ups are to be baked at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes while loosely covered with foil and then an extra 15 minutes with the foil removed. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving. The instructions said to add mozzarella and Parmesan during the last 15 minutes and then it would be a little more golden brown in appearance.
This meal was comforting with the melted cheeses, delicate noodles, and sauce. Each 6 oz. roll is a serving and is pretty generous in size. Lasagna Roll Ups are $8.68 for the 4 – 6 oz. rolls. This product is now $7.68 online and can be found in Schwan’s Shopping Guide Sept.-Oct. 2013 on p. 25. Enjoy!
