Unfortunately, cold and flu season is still upon us for a while. One way I like to help keep my immune system and the immune system of my children in better shape is by taking Sambucol Black Elderberry. I have tried their gummies in the past, but the syrup is new to me, which is probably a bit odd with the gummies being the newer of the two products out on the market.
Sambucol is owned by PharmaCare. This product was developed by an Israeli virologist in the early ’90s named Madeleine Mumcuoglu. The black elderberries are harvested in Europe and made into a syrup while maintaining its important flavonoids. This brand has its headquarters in lovely San Diego.
We keep the Sambucol Gummies in our kitchen cabinet and take them regularly from November-February to get that extra vitamin C and zinc to boost the immune system. My family loves their flavor so they are very easy to get the kids to take.
Sambucol Black Elderberry Syrup is made for adults, but little ones can take it too. You can half the dose for those who are 1-10 years of age. This form can be mixed in water, yogurt, added to your smoothie, or added to some fruit juice so it is very versatile.
Sambucol Black Elderberry Gummies and Syrup is available at retailers nationwide.
