In college, I signed up to take a dance class to try to improve my two left feet and just to cover some general credits. Unfortunately, not enough people signed up and the class was cancelled so I am still trying to move on my two left feet with the music. I thought reviewing SalsaCrazy’s Salsa Dance Workout on DVD would be good for my personal goal of becoming more physically fit and maybe teach me a thing or two about salsa.
SalsaCrazy makes Pilates for Dancers DVD, which I already owned and enjoyed. I thought this video would be done on the same premise, but it is different. For starters, I believe this video was released in 2008. The picture quality isn’t as crisp as other DVDs I have viewed.
The basic steps are taught and then upped in speed during the workout portion with some variations. I was hoping for more of an increase in heart rate or even some sweating while doing this DVD, but I did not get either response. It seems to spend a lot of time teaching the dance steps and then less on bumping up overall body movement for a good workout. This DVD title could us a video update and the music reminds me of something I would hear playing in a Mexican restaurant. Salsa Dance Workout by SalsaCrazy is available on Amazon.com for $9.95.
