Rosewill Home Induction Cooktop Review

We have an electric oven in our home, but sometimes it is nice to have an extra burner for holiday cooking and induction cooktops do heat up faster and more efficiently than electric or gas.  I have been trying out an induction cooktop from Rosewill Home with the model number of RHAI-16001.

Inside the box is the induction cooktop and a 10″ 3.5 qt stainless steel pot with a glass lid.  This cooktop is sleek in design and has a polished A-grade crystal plate surface.  It has a power cord and exhaust vent off the backside.  The control panel is on the front of the unit with from left to right – lock indicator, timer indicator, power/temperature and timer display, power mode indicator, temp mode indicator, and the on/off indicator.  It has a power cord and exhaust vent off the backside.

Once the unit is plugged into a power outlet, you will hear a “beep” and then the on/off button will flash to let you know it is connected to a power supply and it is then in standby mode.  Then the on/off button needs to be pressed to power the unit on.  You can change the modes from power mode or temp mode.  The power mode gives you eight power levels (300W-1800W) measured by wattage.  The temp mode is measured in Fahrenheit (150ºF-450ºF) with also eight settings .  The +/- keys allow you to select the power or temperature you would like to use.  The on/off key is selected again to stop the induction heating method.

This unit comes with a timer function for cooking that can be set to just 1 minute and up to 2 hours and 59 minutes.  There is also the optional lock function to prevent unplanned button changes while in operation.

The material cookware suggested for this induction cooktop are:  steel, cast iron, enameled iron, stainless steel, flat-bottom pans/pots with a bottom diameter from 4.7″-10.2″.  A magnetic card is included and if it clings to the bottom of your cookware, it will work with this induction cooktop.  With the Rosewill Home Induction Cooktop, you can use it to braise, make a stir fry, roasting, frying, and boiling water.

Overall, I think this product is very to use.  I was impressed at how quickly it heated up for use and how smoothly it maintained the heat.  It is not loud, but you will hear the exhaust fan running when using this induction cooktop.

I was not prepared for how quickly the cooktop would heat on the first use and I burnt some food on the bottom of the included pot.  It can be a little tricky to remove stuck on food with the lip/ledge built into the bottom of the pot.

The Rosewill Home Induction Cooktop RHA-16001 is available on Amazon for currently $49.99.

Disclosure:  I received a sample for this review.  No other compensation was received for this post.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
