Review: The Mommy Hook

February 28, 2012 by Karen

The Mommy Hook is made by Mom, Dad and Baby, a U.S. based company.  The Mommy Hook clips onto the handle of almost any stroller or shopping cart.  It creates a place to hang all the gear that travels with on-the-go families with young children.

The Mommy Hook is crafted from aluminum and is cushioned with a rubber sleeve to keep it from sliding.  Diaper bags, shopping bags, camera bags, purses, groceries, sports gear and more can be hooked onto a shopping cart or stroller handle, making them easy to carry and easy to reach.

Review:  With now having a little bit of snow, I had attached The Mommy Hook to the handlebar of the stroller with a canvas bag when going out to get the mail.  I had removed the storage basket from the underside a few months ago because of how it scraped on the snow.  The Mommy Hook with canvas bag made a great replacement for storing items.  As long as the foam was against the handlebar (I made the mistake of initially putting the rubber sleeve down without reading the information), it did a great job staying in place.  It was easy to grip onto, simple to open, and quick in letting the clasp shut.  It is lightweight too with the aluminum body.

I also used The Mommy Hook to bring in a couple bags of groceries.  Our garage is not connected to the house so it can be a chore if I don’t pull up by the house to unload and park in the garage.  It did lessen the number of trips needed to bring all the grocery bags in.  It would have been nice to have The Mommy Hook also in my other hand with bags to balance the weight.

My husband has used the jumbo carabiners that are available at hardware stores, like Home Depot.  He felt The Mommy Hook was the same in regards to strength and quality of build, but said it had more area covered by the rubber sleeve than those he has purchased for use with his business.  One person had what I would consider a great suggestion for use that I have not tried yet, putting children’s toys on The Mommy Hook.
