I recently had the opportunity to sample Pure Matters through the Mamasource Blogger Outreach Program. I was sent Pure Matters Complete Biotic and Pure Matters Sugar-Free Multi-Vitamin for Kids.
Pure Matters Complete Biotic
Our digestive system is responsible for so many things in order to keep our bodies running smoothly. Sometimes we are put on antibiotics, expose ourselves to daily toxins, or maybe eat more than we should of processed foods, our digestion can easily become skewed. This can then affect regularity and even healthy immune function.
Complete Biotic is to help establish and maintain healthy bacteria in the body. It is shelf-stable so it does not need to be refrigerated, just store in a cool, dry place. This formula includes both prebiotics and probiotics. It is also vegetarian, gluten free, and allergen free. Complete Biotic contains an ingredient called Lactowise which is a registered trademark of the Sabinsa Corporation. Lactowise is the shelf stable probiotic + natural soluble fiber (prebiotic). Probiotics taken with prebiotics that support their growth are called “synbiotics”.
Pure Matters Complete Biotic is made in the USA and manufactured for Besins Healthcare in Brussels, Belgium. Pure Matters Complete Biotic has a suggested retail of $49.95 and this is a 30 day supply. I thought these capsules were easy to take and did not notice an aftertaste. I do feel this product helped me feel a bit less bloated and helped to regulate my digestive system. I have been taking it for over a week now.
Instructions: Take two capsules daily with a meal or as directed by your health professional.
Pure Matters Sugar-Free Multi-Vitamin Gummy for Kids
I do try to feed my family the most nutritious meals I can, but I do also supplement my daughters with multi-vitamins. We had been purchasing our multi-vitamins from Sam’s Club and they were in gummy form, but not sugar-free.
My daughters did enjoy the texture and taste to the Pure Matters Sugar-Free Multi-Vitamin Gummy for Kids. The overall appeal was a little higher with Pure Matters than the gummies they had been taking. I tried them too and found they had a great taste, almost to be confused with candy so definitely keep them out of reach for your children! This product has to sometimes be shaken in the bottle to loosen the gummies up. This multi-vitamin is vegetarian and gluten-free. Pure Matters gummies contain vitamins A, C, D, E, B12, and folic acid.
The multivitamin my children had been taking had 1 gram sugar per gummy. The sweetening agent in the Pure Matters gummies appears to be maltitol syrup/maltitol, which is a sugar alcohol. I wasn’t familiar with this ingredient so I did have to do some research. From what I have read, it has 2.1 calories per gram versus 4 calories per gram with sugar. It does have carbs and its properties are nearly identical to sucrose, except for browning. Maltitol can create a laxative effect if taken in large quantities and some can experience GI issues.
Pure Matters Sugar-Free Multi-Vitamin Gummy for Kids has a suggested retail of $19.95 for the 120 ct bottle. It is also made in the USA and manufactured for Besins Healthcare in Brussels, Belgium. Pure Matters also makes a regular multivitamin gummy for the same price that is not sugar-free.
Instructions: As a dietary supplement, adults and children two years of age and over chew two (2) gummies daily. A bottle is 120 gummies so for a single child, is a two month supply. Flavors are: grape, strawberry, orange, lemon, cherry, and grapefruit.
