Review: Loopeez

I recently tried out Loopeez with my five-year-old daughter and worked with her on learning to tie her shoes.  I wanted her to master this task before going off to kindergarten this fall and she seemed receptive to practicing.

Loopeez is a shoe tying aid that is to help decrease/eliminate frustration for children when learning this monumental task.  Loopeez comes in a variety of colors and shoelaces are also available through their store.

Here is an image of the two pieces that are included with the package.  They were stacked on top of each other in the image above.

You start off with crossing your laces.

Put Loopeez over the crossed laces.  Then you need to pull the shoelace through the holes to form the loops (bunny ears) discover more here.

I demonstrated this to my daughter and then had her try with the right shoe. Then she crossed the loops over.

Here is her completed bow.  Sorry, image is sort of blurry.

Loopeez feels like a thin rubber that is easy for adults and children to grab onto, thus decreasing stress and anxiety as a child takes on this new task.  I think Loopeez is attractive and fun to use.  Loopeez is also suggested for therapy and rehabilitation, like victims of stroke, or adults and children with autism too.

Loopeez has a suggested retail of $7.95 with the two sold in a package (one for each shoe).
