Review: Cuddle Covers

April 22, 2012 by Karen

I recently had the opportunity to review Cuddle Covers.  We received Louie the Lion for this review.

Cuddle Covers are available in six animals:  Berry the Bear, Don the Dinosaur, Izzy the Unicorn, Kit the Cat, Louie the Lion, and Max the Dog.  They are made with hypo-allergenic and ultra-soft polyester.  Cuddle Covers are very soft, almost feeling like velvet or a velour.  The covers seem very durable and are machine washable.  The instructions state to machine wash cold with like colors, do not bleach, and line dry.

Leo the Lion is packaged on the left and then I also received a Cuddle Covers pillow.  Cuddle Covers fit one standard pillow.  I received the official pillow of Cuddle Covers for this review.
Here is Leo out of the box.

The zipper is located on the side of Leo’s body.

I put a slight fold in the pillow to squeeze it through the zipper. Then to simply close the zipper and Leo is ready to go.

My son found Leo first and plopped down on top of him.  He was intrigued by Leo’s face.  Cuddle Covers are recommended for children three years and above.

Leo has been quite a hit with my three-year-old.

My five-year-old couldn’t decide if it was better to rest on top of Leo or to just give him a hug.

Cuddle Covers seems to be well built and the fabric is very soft.  Leo has been a shared favorite in our household.  I liked the fact that my children could rest upon Leo while enjoying a book or activity on the floor.  He also sometimes took the place of a regular pillow and comforted one of my daughters when sleeping.

Cuddle Covers were created by Ilan Sharone.  They were based on his childhood memories of playing with his brothers before bedtime.  He and his brothers used to dress their pillows up as favorite cartoon characters and put on a puppet show.  Of course, they would have an occasional pillow fight too.  Ilan had recently started his own family and remembered how much fun dressed up pillows were as a kid, inspiring him to create Cuddle Covers for his own child and others to enjoy.

The six Cuddle Covers sell for $19.99 each plus shipping and handling and are available worldwide.  You can purchase at  www.CuddleCovers.com.  Right now, they are offering a free mini Cuddle Cover animal with the purchase of a regular Cuddle Cover and additional $5.95 to cover the shipping and handling.  You can find more information about Cuddle Covers plush animal playmates at www.CuddleCovers.com.
