My son is almost 1 1/2-years-old and will soon be weaned of his pacifier. He currently uses it primarily for naps and at bedtime.
I had seen Baby Blast and many testimonials on how it worked to attract babies to take a pacifier, but I was more intrigued on it enhancing the flavor of medicine, thus making it easier on the child to take. My kids are currently healthy so I didn’t have a chance to try it with medicine during this review.
I sprayed Baby Blast on my son’s pacifier to see how he would react to the taste. He put it in and permeated a big grin behind his NUK. He then took out the pacifier and came to me while I had the spray bottle in hand yet and opened his mouth. He wanted me to spray Baby Blast directly into his mouth! It definitely has flavor appeal!
The main ingredient to Baby Blast is vegetable glycerin. The other ingredients are: pure water and pure vanilla extract. There are no sugars, preservatives, or alcohol so it is not sticky. Baby Blast is currently available in just the vanilla flavor, but new flavors are being considered for release in the future.
The spray bottle is made of PET#1 so there are no BPAs in the plastic. To use, just spray on the pacifier, teething ring, medicine dispenser, sippy cups, on nipple before feeding, and more. If leaving a little breastmilk on the nipple does not alone soothe cracked nipples, the vegetable glycerin in Baby Blast is to be moisturizing and help heal.
I had experienced breast strike with two of my children. I wonder if it would have been made less stressful if Baby Blast would have been available then. It is a fairly new product, founded March 2011. A mom of five children invented Baby Blast as a way to help child #5 be soothed longer with her pacifier.
Baby Blast is sold in a 2-ounce bottle that is to provide 410 blasts per bottle. The suggested retail is $8.95. This product is formulated and manufactured in St. George, Utah. There is a 30 day guarantee on your purchase of Baby Blast.
