Steve and Ruth Bennett (authors of bestselling kids’ activity book, “365 TV-Free Activities You Can Do With Your Child”) have just released a new activities book, “101 Offline Activities You Can Do With Your Child” (BPT Press).
I was excited to receive this publication a few weeks ago. We live in an age of electronic gadgetry and it is refreshing to read a book with ideas to sit down and do with your children that does not require batteries. I think it somewhat unique that Steve and Ruth created this book with small images, along with words, in order to help young children pick out an activity themselves in the Table of Contents if they are not able to read. This is a plus in my family with the oldest child being a four-year-old. The activities seem to be nicely detailed with supplies that seem quite practical. I like the idea of the kids doing tic-tac-toe while I make dinner with sliced veggies and popsicle sticks to keep them occupied and to provide a healthy entry into the meal (#4 Audrey’s Tic-Tac-Toe Game). My other favorites are: Coffe Filter Painting #14 and Guess That Sound #29.

Thanks to BPT Press for providing my review sample. I received no other compensation and all views expressed are my own.

I don’t know if this goes in the non gadget territory but we love to play with a dry erase boards. My kids are 6 and 10!! lol And we draw each other, take turns, just play and I promise you, it’s an hour of fun and it’s so simple and we laugh so hard!
