RED SPARROW was recently released on Ultra HD™ 4K, Blu-ray™ and DVD from Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment. This is a spy thriller that is rated R and features Jennifer Lawrence as Dominika.
Dominika is a ballerina who is forced to change her career early due to an expected injury. The ballet company has been providing housing for Dominika and her mother. Dominika’s mother also has a medical condition requiring medications and frequent doctor visits. Their insurance is provided by the ballet company too.
In order to try to keep things good for her mother, Dominika is told by her uncle to go on a mission that will keep things well for her and her mother. This mission leads to the death of a man. Dominika now has a bigger price to be pay – be killed or enter Sparrow School, a secret government program.
With this title being rated R, there is some gore with torture, strong violence, sexual content, language, and some graphic nudity. At times, the movie seemed a bit dry, but if you hold until the ending, there will be twists and turns to the story that you will not see coming.
Francis Lawrence (Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2) reunites with Lawrence and directs an all-star supporting cast including Joel Edgerton, Jeremy Irons, Matthias Schoenaerts, Mary-Louise Parker, Charlotte Rampling and Joely Richardson in this edge-of-your-seat spy thriller. RED SPARROW is loaded with over 90 minutes of bonus material that takes you inside the making of the film, exploring real-life source material with the author, cast commentary, deleted scenes and much more.
