To keep our minds active during the summer months, games have been a great way to relax and sometimes challenge one another. One of our recently played games is Quiz Master Pop Trivia by Goliath Games. It is a favorite for my 13-year-old, but it is labeled for 14 years and above. I like that this game can be played with just two players or you can have several and create teams.
This game includes 150 cards that have 900 questions. These questions span over six decades (the 1950s-2000s). There is one die and also the instructions for play also enclosed. You can play it with each player being independent of one another or as teams that are recommended to be of the same size and of mixed ages.
The set of cards from each decade are shuffled to mix them up and put back under their respective decades in the game box. Each card has six questions that represent Fads & Fashion, TV, Film, Music, Sport, and Name the Year. With rolling the die, it decides which team goes first. The player or team then gets to pick which decade they want to answer from and rolling the die again determines which question category will be asked.
If the player or team answers the question correctly, they keep the card. If they do not, the card goes back under the appropriate decade in the box. Then the next player or team gets to pick their decade and rolls for the category the question will be part of.
Now if a player or team doesn’t get that first card right, they can try to answer any decade on their turn until the question is answered correctly and they win that card. When they have answered correctly and awarded the card, they must try answering one of the remaining decades on their next turn.
The winner is declared when the first player or team gains a card from each of the six decades. To learn more about this product and other entertaining family games, please visit Goliath Games.
