Pura d’or Hair Products

I have always had fine hair, but it doesn’t feel as thick as it once was and I see more hairs leaving on the hairbrush than I remember in the past so I was intrigued to try Pura d’or products.  I was sent their Premium Organic Argan Oil Based Hair Loss Prevention Shampoo, Premium Organic Argan Oil Based Conditioner in Lavender Vanilla, and Pure and Organic Argan Oil to try.

Purad’or makes skin and hair care products.  All of their products are made without harsh chemicals, are USDA certified, and animal cruelty free.  They are a very popular brand on Amazon for the sale of shampoos and conditioners.  Purad’or shampoos and conditioners do not contain SLS,parabens, or gluten.  I did not realize some hair products may contain gluten and this made me think of the concern for those that do have gluten issues.

Pura d’or’s mission is to create personal care solutions that truly work.  Their ingredients are grown on trees that are sustainably grown.  The products are then made by artists and scientists, not industrially by machines.

The pura d’or shampoo has 12 DHT blockers that are to prevent future hair loss and create thicker hair.  It is a thick, clear liquid with a slightly herbal or almost medicinal smell that quickly dissipates.  It is formulated with an organic blend of argan oil, B vitamin complex, biotin, nettles extract, saw palmetto, He Shou Wu (Fo-ti) and other clinically proven natural ingredients to aid against hair loss.

To use, you are to lather a small amount of the product in wet hair and allow to set for 2 minutes before rinsing and for best results, use for three months.  I have been using about a week so it is too soon to tell a difference.  A 16 fl. oz. bottle is to be approximately a 3 month supply and is priced at $24.99.

The conditioner is formulated to increase shine, texture, and volume.  It is a creamy, white liquid that is easy to apply.  I thought it smelled lightly of coconut versus the lavender vanilla it is labeled as.  Coconut proteins are listed in the first few ingredients and the scent is not present for long.

This product is also recommended to use for 3 months for best results.  That is approximately one 16 oz. bottle, which is also $24.99.

I briefly tried the argan oil on my hand today.  It’s clear and not super heavy.  It seems to absorb into the skin fairly quickly or maybe it’s just because my skin is so dry this time of year.  🙁  The oil is 100% cold pressed and can be used to help reduce scars and stretch marks, decrease wrinkles, relieve eczema and psoriasis, and just to improve the skin overall .   It is listed at $24.99 for 4 oz.
