The 2018 Progressive® Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show® docks at the Minneapolis Convention Center January 11-14 with once-a-year deals to get ready for summer on the water, featuring over 700 new boats and innovative marine accessories, plus boatloads of fun for people of all ages and nautical enthusiasts at any skill level.
The Progressive® Insurance Minneapolis Boat Show® is the one-stop marketplace for boating and fishing fans, providing visitors a unique chance to shop and compare hundreds of models and brands, from entry-level family cruisers and pontoons to aluminum and fiberglass fishing boats.

NEW! Boat show attendees can relax and put their feet up at the Lakeshore Lifestyle Experience. can experience the “Marvelous Marquette” vertical tasting event with a chance to sample Minnesota red and white wines including the popular Marquette grape, released in 2009 from the University of Minnesota. Music will be provided by Joey Flip Thursday – Saturday from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
NEW! Progressive® Boat Club: In this interactive space, attendees can boost their nautical know-how with top-notch mariners from the Annapolis School of Seamanship teaching hands-on boating courses for all levels of experience. Visitors can also try Progressive’s NEW Oculus Rift virtual reality experience, putting themselves at the helm of a virtual boat race. Plus, attendees can chat with a Progressive expert to ask any questions about boating coverages or get a free quote.
NEW! This year’s show kicks off the inaugural Minneapolis Innovation Awards. Boat Writers International will award the top pontoon boats, aluminum freshwater fishing boats and fiberglass freshwater fishing boats, making the show the place to be for the latest and greatest in boating technology. Winners will be announced at 6:00 PM on Thursday at the Lakeshore Lifestyle Experience within the show.
RETURNING FAVORITE FEATURE! Experience the beauty and craftsmanship of days gone by at the Antique & Classic Boat Display, presented by the Bob Speltz Land-O-Lakes chapter of the Antique and Classic Boat Society, returning this year with a new selection of vintage crafts. Among the boats on display is Surprise, a 30’ 1927 Hutchinson Launch built by the Hutchinson Boat company in New York. The boat was owned by Charles Merrill, the founder of the investment bank Merrill Lynch also in New York.
RETURNING FAVORITE FEATURE! Do-it-yourselfers and current boat owners can learn valuable techniques for fixing, repairing and maintaining their boat at Fred’s Shed Interactive Learning Center.
