Summary:

When Portland preschool teacher Leslie McCollom created the @PreschoolGems Twitter feed in 2010, it was because precious jewels were slipping through her fingers every day. So McCollom became a covert anthropologist in the secret world of children, and when she launched her feed with her funniest findings, her followers quickly grew to more than 160,000 followers to date! You can watch McCollom’s beautiful new book trailer by clicking here.
PRESCHOOL GEMS: Love, Death, Magic, and Other Surprising Treasures from the Mouths of Babes is McCollom’s wonderful collection of the most bizarre, hilarious, and jaw-dropping things overheard at her school.
Some of the many entertaining quotes include:
•               “My mom lived in the nineties.”
•               “Something’s happening with my butt.”
•               “People are hamburgers in America.”

•               “I have a cool trick, but it’s not allowed.”

Review:

It’s amazing, the things that come out of children’s mouths.  I recently purchased a book to help me write down some of the new ones that come up to certainly chuckle about now and in the future.  One the other day was my daughter (3 1/2) telling my husband that when she becomes “a dad”, she wants to drive a tractor.

Author Leslie McCollom shares with us in Preschool Gems, some of the great “gems” produced by the children of her preschool class.  Quite a few of these treasures made me laugh or at least brought a smile to my face.  It is interesting to think what goes on in the minds of our little ones!

This book is 109 pages, quick for reading or probably great to have out on the coffee table to share with guests.  Preschool Gems is a title I want to gift to the teachers of my youngest two this year.  It’s a hoot!

Disclosure:  I received a copy of Preschool Gems for this review.  No other compensation was received.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.

I consider you’ve created some genuinely exciting points. Not too most people would in reality consider about this the way you simply did. I’m really impressed that there’s a lot about this topic that’s been uncovered and you also did it so tremendously, with a lot class.
