Holiday parties for work and with family are plentiful this time of year.  I like bringing something that is easy to make and how about an appetizer that features the flavors of America’s favorite food, pizza?

Tastefully Simple products allow you to make great food with two ingredients or less and are perfect for sharing and entertaining.  I had sampled Tastefully Simple’s Warm Pizza Dip Mix in August at their annual conference and it was my favorite new product of the day.  I was excited to create a recipe featuring this product.

Tastefully Simple’s Warm Pizza Dip Mix only needs 8 oz. softened cream cheese (light version may be used) and Colby Jack cheese to make the dip.  There are 2 – 1 oz. packets and when made into the dip, each packet makes about eight servings.  Beyond creating a dip, this mix can be used in a main dish or to create an appetizer.

IMG_5054With the Warm Pizza Dip Mix, you can experience the taste of pizza in new ways.  I started off with adding the cream cheese and substituted sharp cheddar cheese for the suggested Colby Jack.  Simply blend the ingredients together and microwave to heat through.

Then I applied a layer of the dip on crescent rolls that were rolled out and added pizza toppings (make veggies as dry as possible to avoid soggy dough).  Then roll up the stuffed crescents and bake.

Pizza Crescent Rolls may be served whole or halved as the main dish or an appetizer.  If you prefer different toppings, you can choose to add what you would like to your creation and enjoy!

Ingredients
  1. Tastefully Simple Warm Pizza Dip Mix
  2. 8 oz. softened cream cheese (light cream cheese may be used)
  3. 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese
  4. 2 tubes of 8 count refrigerated crescent rolls
  5. 1/4 of a medium onion, finely chopped
  6. 1/4 of each a red and green pepper, diced
  7. 1/2 of 6 oz. can of olives, well drained and sliced
  8. 5 oz. mini pepperoni, 1/2 bag used
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (temp may vary depending upon brand of refrigerated crescent roll)
  2. In microwave-safe bowl, mix 1 packet Warm Pizza Dip Mix, 8 oz. cream cheese, and 3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese. Heat in the microwave on high for one minute or until heated through at 30 second intervals (stir after each interval).
  3. Remove the rolls from the can and separate into eight triangles. Apply an even layer of Warm Pizza Dip to each triangle.
  4. Add desired pizza toppings and sprinkle on remaining 1/4 c. sharp cheddar cheese among the 16 triangles.
  5. Firmly roll triangles up into a crescent shape and place the stuffed crescents on a baking sheet or baking sheet lined with aluminum foil. Bake 11-13 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
  1. Dry vegetables as much as possible to prevent crescent roll dough from becoming soggy.
