With all of the portable music players available, why not make the source of sound cute and amusing for the kids?  Party Animal is a dancing pet speaker.  It plays and dances to the beat of your favorite music.

I received Party Animal, Spike (PS100) for this review.  There are currently four available:  Spike (black and white dog), Tom (orange tabby cat), Sandy (buff colored dog), and Cleo (black and white cat).  More animals are coming soon to the Party Animal collection.

This product is recommended for ages 6 and above.  They are not suited for children under age 3 as being a potential choking hazard due to small parts being involved in this product.

The Party Animals enjoy any type of music and have their own moves to share and make you smile

.  These little animals run on 3 AA batteries that are not included or you can use the 5V plug-in for power.  An audio cord to connect your Party Animal to music device is included

.  There is a slit in the fur at the base of the left leg to accommodate for the plug-ins being attached to this leg.

There are two modes, dance and speaker mode.  Dance mode:  this cute plush animal speaker dances to the beat of your music and stops when your music stops.  Speaker mode:  Your music will play while your Party Animal gets rested.  There is a toggle button you  can activate by pressing on your Party Animal’s left paw to go between dance and speaker mode.  They play from almost any music source such as:  iPod/iPad/iPhone, laptop, smartphone with MP3 player, MP4 player, MP3 player, portable CD player, or any audio device that is equipped with a standard 3.5 mm output port.

I thought Spike was quite cute.  My children enjoyed watching Spike and copying his dance moves.  Spike worked pretty much as expected.  I noticed when playing my MP3 player at a quieter setting and being in dance mode, Spike would not dance.  It’s not a big problem for me, but just something to note with Party Animals – may not dance in dance mode while using low volume settings.

A portion of the profits from Party Animals is donated to support PETA, Paws Chicago, and The Anti-Cruelty Society of Chicago.  Party Animals have a suggested retail of $28.95 plus shipping and handling.  You can learn more about the Party Animals at dancingpartyanimals.com or check them out on Facebook.  Party Animals come with a 3 month limited warranty.
