With my love of cooking, I was excited to try out the Green Earth Pan by Ozeri. I was sent the 8″ pan, but it is also available in a 10″ and 12″.
The Green Earth Pan features Ecozeri™, ultra safe 100% PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene or brand name Teflon) and PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid, which is a carcinogen that applies non-stick coatings to pans and for the most part is burned off during application) free ceramic non-stick coating. There are no harmful heavy metals or chemicals and no harmful fumes emitted with use.
The ceramic coating is considered to be scratch-resistant and durable. It also features an oven-safe handle, which is larger than what I have used in the past, but it does not get hot and is easy to grip. This pan is induction stove safe too.
The Green Earth Pan has 6 layers to its design. From exterior to interior:
- Ceramic clear coating
- Ceramic base coating
- Die Cast Aluminum
- Ceramic base coating
- Ceramic top coating
- Anion
It has a magnetized bottom for rapid heat transfer.
I have used this pan for frying chicken and eggs so far. As you can see in the picture above when I was trying to cook chicken for Sweet and Sour Chicken, I put too much oil in the pan. You can get by with a minute amount of oil when cooking.
Clean-up is easy with handwashing and often times it looks like it does not need cleaning with food just slipping right off. Of course this pan is not dishwasher safe and you do not want to use metal utensils to prevent scratching.
For care, the instructions say you need to let the pan cool before cleaning or it will damage the non-stick surface. I have used Green Earth Pan by Ozeri for three weeks and have been very satisfied by its performance and design. With a family of five, I wish I had a larger size. It takes batches to complete a meal!
Disclosure: I received a Green Earth Pan to review. No other compensation was received. The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.
