I rarely have the opportunity to create a card, but I wanted to try an owl punch that I had by Stampin’ Up and had seen someone use the cute wording of “Happy Owl-O-Ween” recently. I will warn you again, I hardly ever get time to create cards so please don’t laugh. I was doing this today while managing the girls and Caleb was napping. It was a challenge. They are so fascinated by mommy’s tools and paper, I get paper ran through the paper trimmer that I need to use and stickers stuck sometimes in odd places if I am not prepared. These were later packaged up with the mummies from another recent post and placed in brown sandwich bags that I let the girls stamp with Halloween stamps.
Owl Card
Here is the owl punch and then for the whites of the eyes and the orange gem on the owl’s bow, I used the Imaginisce I-Rock Tool. If you are not familiar with the I-Rock, it is a cordless heat setting tool. I got mine off of scrapbooksteals.com earlier this year. It can be used to affix rhinestones, jewels, pearls, or mirrors to paper, fabric, and even furniture. My I-Rock came with four containers of glam rocks. The glam rocks come with an adhesive already on them that the I-Rock heats up and causes it to adhere to your surface. No glue needed. Some practice is needed to not under heat the glam rocks or to overheat and have some of the white adhesive ooze out, which can sometimes be removed after it has cooled.
