I subscribe to e-mail from Craftaholics Anonymous and I think Linda is so creative! One of her more recent posts was an “Easy Halloween Mummy Tutorial”. I thought they were super cute and possibly a gift idea for the early childhood/preschool teachers that my daughters are under care of. These mummies look a decent size in the pic, but with reading the tutorial, I found they are just 6″ tall. My husband is a residential contractor so finding lumber around was just a matter of him going through a scrap pile of boards. Here is my take on Linda’s project:
My Latest Craft Endeavor
6″ 2×4 board painted white
Wrapping up with cut cheese cloth
25mm googley eyes hot glued on
More cheese cloth wrapped on mummies
Linda had mentioned inking with brown ink at the end to give them more of a tattered appearance. I have not tried this yet. I had my oldest daughter help me wrap so I need to go back and secure some of the cheese cloth ends with hot glue. Now just to make Halloween cards to go along with them. 🙂
