Mosquitno Safe Mosquito Control

IMG_0155We had a pretty wet spring in Minnesota that led to a bumper crop of mosquitoes this summer.  They seem to have tapered off a bit in intensity, but they are still hungry in the mornings and evenings.  It does not help that we have a 2 acre pond on our property that becomes a perfect mosquito nursery.

Mosquitno makes all natural mosquito repellent products in the form of wristbands and as SpotZzz stickers.  This product is to help repel no-see-ums, ticks, gnats, and fleas too.  The active ingredient in both is citronella oil so no worry of DEET.IMG_0837The Mosquitno wristbands are made of rubber.  Simply wear it on your wrist to repel mosquitoes.  The wristbands come  in a resealable bag, which is great for storage and helps the product last longer.  This product is to last up to 6 days (approximately 150 hours) of exposure.  The two wristbands pictured are in the kid’s size.  There is also an adult size available.  The Mosquitno wristbands are safe for children 3 years and up, non-toxic, and waterproof.

My kids managed to keep the wristbands dry so I can’t say how much getting them wet hinders the product.  They did seem to help quite a bit in keeping the mosquitoes at bay and the kids comfortable.  The wristbands have “hey don’t bit me please Mosquitno” stamped on them.  The children liked the bright colors and the color tie dye was fun.  The wristbands retail for $3.99 each, kid and adult sizes.  There is even a glow in the dark wristband available!

Earlier this summer, mosquitoes would sneak in the house when we went in and out to do evening chores so my youngest wanted to go to sleep with his Mosquitno wristband on.  It was great to feel that he was safe keeping it yet on as he slept.IMG_0834The Mosquitno SpotZzz have an adhesive back so you just need to simply peel and stick them to your clothing, shoes, hats, and backpacks.  They are to last up to three hours and are reusable.  We were sent the primary color set, which is pictured below.  There are six themes available.  A six-pack of SpotZzz has a suggested retail of $3.99 and each SpotZzz can be cut out individually and leave the others sealed in the package until you need them.IMG_0835The SpotZzz seem to stick well.  My kids and I tried them on our clothing and I felt like I was still getting targeted quite a bit by bites with one on.  They may work better if you place multiple SpotZzz on your articles of clothing.  This product is recommended for children 3 and above since it could be considered a choking hazard.IMG_0836
