Monkey Mat Review

I don’t know if you are like me, but it is nice to have something along that provides a clean area to sit on and for my children to enjoy when out at play or even to share a snack while out and about.  Sometimes it’s just hard to find simply a sanitary place to eat when at public events.  The Monkey Mat is a portable, water-resistant mat, perfect for on the go.  It folds out to a generous 5’x5′.

The Monkey Mat was created by a mom with two little girls.  She noted the need for this product when having a six hour layover at an airport and noting that her children needed an area to play and not on the dirty floors.  Development began for a lightweight, portable, clean surface that could be taken everywhere.

IMG_0974Here is the mat unfolded.  Around the Monkey Mat label in the center, there are four loops to attach toys for play.  The four corners also have rings for running stakes or other objects through to ground the mat at the corners on a blustery day.  Dirt, grass, sand and so forth shake off easily.  Since the Monkey Mat is water resistant, liquids will bead up and are easily wiped off.  It is not waterproof so you can’t put it down on like grass with heavy dew and expect your underside to stay dry.

pouch (6″x6″) that is sewn to one corner of the mat and has a zipper closure.  No need to worry about losing the storage pouch with this mat.  The pouch has a strap that can be open and closed with a plastic buckle so you can easily attach to the bars of your stroller, purse strap, bike, etc.  It is lightweight (approximately 10 oz.) for easy transportation and storage.  The Monkey Mat is also machine washable (cold water) and can tumble dry on a low or delicate setting to remove wrinkles.

The Monkey Mat has a suggested retail of $39.99 and is currently available in pink, orange, dark khaki, and blue with the cute animal print on the pouch and corners of the mat.  To learn more about this product, please visit www.monkeymat.com, Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest.

Disclosure:  I received a Monkey Mat for this review.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.  No other compensation was received for this post.
