I was selected to host a Moms’ Night Out party by MomSelect in honor of the new movie, Moms’ Night Out, which opened in theaters on May 9th. This film features a great cast with some very familiar stars, Sarah Drew (Grey’s Anatomy), Sean Astin (The Lord of the Rings), Patricia Heaton (Everybody Loves Raymond, The Middle), and even country music singer Trace Adkins. The executive producers are Patricia Heaton and her real life husband, David Hunt. David has a part in the movie too as the cab driver.
I felt I could strongly relate to the main character, Allyson, a mom of three young children who feels at times that she is the only one who does not have her act together. She needs to do something for herself so she plans a night out with her two friends. One is a long-time friend and the other is her pastor’s wife.
They plan their evening of fine dining and leave the kids with their husbands for three hours and all breaks loose. I wish I could elaborate more on this, but I also have the novelization of Moms’ Night Out coming out in a future review too.
I will say that this movie is safe to take the entire family to and it is nice that it showcases humor, family, and faith. Moms’ Night Out celebrates “a beautiful mess called parenting.” With hosting the mom party, I received a $25 gift card from Papa Murphy’s to cover a meal for the family when we went out, a $25 Restaurant.com gift card, recipes to make other goodies to share with the ladies, and a few activity ideas to start the evening off with. There were free HP Printables available to keep the kids occupied too. 🙂
