About Miessence:
Narelle Chenery was introduced to a new natural skin care line in 1992. After she began promoting the company, she looked up the “natural” ingredients in a cosmetic dictionary and found that the ingredients were actually dangerous! Narelle went on a mission to find truly natural products. She started creating skin creams that she gave away as gifts. When pregnant with her third child, her hobby expanded into a home-based business.
Fast forward a year and a half. Narelle featured her products at a natural products expo and was approached by Alf Orpen, who asked her to create a fully certified organic skin-care line. One hurdle was creating a natural, organic preservative. After 18 months of research and development, Miessence was created. It became the world’s first certified organic (organic certification in 1/2001) skin care and cosmetics line. The company expanded to include also health supplements and household products and recently, changes to their protocols means that you can buy from Amazon. How convienient, we all like that, don’t we.
Review:
For this review, I was sent the Vitality Challenge Kit by Miessence Superfoods. This combination of three products is to detoxify the body. This is to then lead to increased energy levels, improved sleep, heightened mental alertness, and improved immunity.
The Vitality Pack includes:
- InLiven Probiotic Superfood – 26 naturally fermented organic whole foods to help repopulate the gut with beneficial bacteria. It includes a mix of naturally occurring Lactobacilli bacteria and yeast.
- BerryRadical Antioxidant Superfood – antioxidant equivalent of over 8 servings of fruits and vegetables. It contains ogranic raw unrefined cacao powder, raw coffee fruit extract, and organic powders of olive juice extract, pomegranate, goji berry, acai berry, blueberry, raspberry, and strawberry.
- DeepGreen Alkalising Superfood – remineralize and balance the body’s pH with a super-concentrated source of alkalizing, mineral-rick, green algae, grass juices and leafy greens. The ingredients include certified organic blue-green algae, Aphanizomenon Flos aqueae, chlorella vulgaris, grass juices, and leafy green vegetables.
This kit allows you to take part in the Vitality Challenge, which is a period of 10 days. There is a Quality of Life Health Survey to take in the enclosed book to test your current state of body and mind. An identical second quiz is provided for at the end of the challenge to see then how you feel.
To use the enclosed powders, you are to use one teaspoon of each product per day for 10 days. If you answered having more than five of the listed symptoms in the quiz as regularly or constantly, you only want to use 1/2 teaspoon of each per day for 20 days to lessen the symptoms of discomfort with detoxifying. I was able to take 1 teaspoon of each per day based on my answers and didn’t notice any unbearable symptoms.
After the challenge, I thought my skin and hair looked better. I was experiencing dry skin, which I just associated with the dry air in a heated home during the winter and my hair was more limp. I have fine, thick hair that is super straight. It usually likes to give me a styling challenge and a need to tame extra oil from the added sebaceous (oil) glands on my head. Anyway, my hair looked better after the challenge without changing my daily shampoo and I could refrain from applying lotion to my skin as often. I feel that I had a slight increase in overall energy. I think the Vitality Pack is a great way to introduce yourself to these three products and to learn how they work for you.
With taking the Vitality Pack products, the booklet said you could start your morning with a teaspoon of DeepGreen mixed in a glass of water or juice. I tried it in water and it tasted like wheatgrass. If you are not a fan of that flavor, I would suggest taking it and the other powders daily in a smoothie. You can sprinkle them on oatmeal or other grains like amaranth in the morning, but it doesn’t work to combine with all breakfast foods so just plan accordingly. There are three recipes in the enclosed booklet for smoothies and there are more recipes to offer variety available online.
