Over the last few months, I have been digesting the contents of Master Your Core. I received a copy of this title to review.
After having three children and leading a more sedentary lifestyle than I did back when I was in my 20s, I knew my core wasn’t as strong as it used to be. I discovered from reading this book that surprisingly, women are actually more prone to injury from sports and everyday life than men. I’m by no means an athlete, but I wanted to have better balance and strength so if I ever do fall, hopefully, I can walk away with little to no injury.
Master Your Core by Dr. Bohdanna Zazulak provides you with a unique way of understanding the methodology behind core training and then techniques to put it into practice. There are 50 science-based core exercises included in this title to help tone and train your core. There is a section on meditation and breathing exercises that aren’t hard to follow and are geared at strengthening your core muscles. Dr. Zazulak also includes a step-by-step process to improve your posture too. I think we all can benefit from this.
There are written descriptions for the exercises as well as three-step black and white images. I would have loved a video link as well for some of the exercises and techniques just to help me feel a little more sure on if I was doing them correctly. I love visuals when I am learning a new exercise. There are a few videos on YouTube that do help enrich the book. Otherwise, Master Your Core is very informative and a good investment in your personal health.
