BLOOMINGTON, Minn. (July 9, 2014) – Mall of America® welcomes Barnacle Blast Zip Line, the newest attraction in Nickelodeon Universe®, opening Friday, July 18. The opening date has changed to later next week. With more than 800 feet of high-flying adventure, Barnacle Blast is the longest indoor zip line in North America.
Thrill-seeking guests can leap from a platform more than 60 feet above the ground, flying 405 feet across Nickelodeon Universe, suspended by a single wire. Once riders land on the platform on the far side of the park, they get to jump again and zip all the way back. The zip line takes riders on an aerial tour of Nickelodeon Universe, gliding over the carousel, past the ferris wheel and above thousands of people.
Barnacle Blast is the newest experience added to the Dutchman’s Deck attraction, located in the northwest corner of Nickelodeon Universe. Dutchman’s Deck includes the Ghostly Gangplank high ropes course and Anchor Drop slides.
“We are thrilled to offer a brand new attraction to our guests this summer” said Jennifer Lauerman, Senior Marketing Director at Mall of America. “Whether it’s your first time or 100th time visiting Mall of America, we love to offer something new to everyone. The zip line is truly a one of a kind experience.”
Barnacle Blast will have the same height and weight restrictions as Dutchman’s Deck and will be open during standard Nickelodeon Universe hours. Admission for a single zip line ride is $7.99. The Dutchman’s Deck Package, which includes the zip line, slides and high ropes course is $10.99 or $9.00 when purchased with an Unlimited Ride Wristband to Nickelodeon Universe.
