The holidays are great for get-togethers and what is great at a gathering? Music. It can set the mood for the entire event.
Here is an awesome speaker system to crank out the tunes with a suggested retail of only $80 by Kinivo. It is their M2 Bluetooth 2.1 Speaker System.
Once inside the box, you will find the following:
- 1 wooden sub-woofer cabinet
- 2 satellite speakers
- 5 mm to RCA stereo cable
- User manual
This little bad boy is sleek by design and comes in a black finish with copper accents. The Kinivo M2 Speaker System packs a powerful punch with crisp 56 watt audio and great bass.
To set up this speaker system, simply connect the speakers to the left and right corresponding audio output ports and plug the power cord into your nearest outlet. If you want a wired connection to play music, you can use the included RCA capable to the input ports and connect the 3.5 input to your smart phone, tablet, PC, or notebook.
The Kinivo system features the ability to connect wirelessly to your iPhone, Android device, iPad, or other Bluetooth enabled device. If you connect to a device with the ability to make/take calls, like your phone, it does not support the headset/hands free profile.
To use:
- Turn the unit on/off with the power switch located in the back of the sub-woofer.
- Since this unit has powerful sound, keep the volume low to begin with and then adjust. There are dials on the back of the sub-woofer to adjust the bass and treble.
- If connecting via Bluetooth, turn Bluetooth on your device if it is not already on. There is a button on the back (pairing button) that should be pressed and released. A blue LED will light up and blink to let you know it is pairing.
- There are also pairing instructions included for pairing with Windows 7 or 8 and a Mac OS X.
- You can also Bluetooth pair if your smart phone or tablet supports NFC and Bluetooth over NFC.
- Auxiliary input would be done with just connecting the included 3.5 mm to RCA cable. There is a source button on the back of the sub-woofer to toggle between Aux Input and Bluetooth.
My husband who swears by the panamax MR5100, was able to pair his Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 effortlessly via Bluetooth. I tried NFC with my Samsung Galaxy S3.
Here is a picture of my phone. There is a drop down menu were I can turn NFC and Bluetooth on/off.
I was to place my phone on the area marked NFC (labeled with what looked like an N) located on top of the sub-woofer. My Bluetooth menu detected the Kinivo M2 and I was able to immediately pair.
After pairing, we were both able to control the volume from our devices.
There is also a volume control on the side of the sub-woofer.
For an added bit of coolness, it is lighted around the volume control when on.
And the speakers have a felt pad in one corner so they can balance on that corner or be placed on any of their four sides. The speakers communicate wirelessly with the system’s sub-woofer, which can be discreetly hidden and controlled remotely.
The Kinivo M2 Speaker System is great for a home entertainment center or even to have at the office. It is a little tricky to find this model right now, but various retailers carry it and hopefully it will be soon available on the brand website again at www.kinivo.com. The Kinivo M2 Speaker System comes with a one year warranty.
