The INOVA Microlight STS is a touch activated LED flashlight marketed by Nite Ize. It has a maximum output of 16 lumens and has four functions that are: high power, variable dim, low power, and strobe. 2 – 2032 lithium batteries are included, but they are replaceable. This microlight has a light output of 2 lumens to 16 lumens. Lumens determine how much light flows away from the source. The INOVA can run about 9 hours on high and up to 64 hours on low. It has a 50,000 hour white LED light. The Inova Microlight STS is available in four colors:
- Smoke (pictured in review)
- Blue
- Orange
- Olive
It also has water-and-shock-resistant casing and is designed to be compact and convenient with a quick right-to-left swipe of the thumb to operate. There is a s-biner stainless steel double gated carabiner on one end to clip to your key chain, belt loop, purse, backpack, etc.
The INOVA has Swipe to Shine™ technology. To toggle through modes (High, Low, Flash, Off):
- Swipe with the thumb from left to right (swipes must be repeated quickly, in less than 2 seconds).
- After a 3 second delay in any mode, swiping once will turn the microlight off.
Variable Dim Mode:
- Swipe once to enter HIGH mode.
- Immediately press and hold the thumb anywhere on the swipe pad to dim the light. Remove the thumb when the desired light level is achieved.
I thought this little flashlight was fun to control. There is no pressing of buttons, just a swiping of the thumb. The level of brightness seemed decent for its small size. The video below has no sound, but shows how easy it is to flip between modes with the INOVA Microlight STS. This product has a suggested retail of $11.99 and comes with a limited lifetime warranty.
