Last weekend was event-filled for us with having our outdoor movie night and having this fun, Scrat-astrophic kit. We received an Ice Age Fleece Blanket, Glow in the Dark Stars, Smithsonian Telescope, Smithsonian Rocket Launcher, Smithsonian Projector, and a Star Finder Book.
In Ice Age: Collision Course, Scrat goes after his beloved acorn and ironically activates a spaceship. With Scrat not being a seasoned pilot, he unknowingly inflicts chaos on the planets and the rest of the galaxy.
We tried the Smithsonian Rocket Launcher first. It came with everything but the vinegar and baking soda needed to create a chemical reaction that would launch the rocket 1-2′ into the air.
My oldest enjoyed the Backyard Night Sky. It increased her love of the mysteries found in the night sky. And what’s better than curling up in a soft blanket with a good book?
If you can’t enjoy the stars outside, you can project them on the wall or ceiling with the Smithsonian Projector. It comes with three image discs.
We have only gotten one chance to try this out so far, but my kids thought it was a lot of fun to magnify objects in the night sky with the Smithsonian Telescope.
Thanks again to Fox Home Entertainment for the awesome #ScratInSpace items!
