Progress on new experiment-growing in 8″ PVC pipe. |
One thing we have noted with the PVC gardening is the higher up, the less moisture. We will need to install some type of irrigation for at least the top row in the future. I had spinach on the second row and it started and then went blah. I am thinking from too much moisture for it.
Cilantro on end of PVC garden |
My two eggplant and one of the peppers. They are brushing up in height against the next row. |
One view of the garden. I wish I knew of an organic way to do this outside of plucking off the caterpillars, but I did dust for cabbage moths today with Sevin. |
Layne holding one of the caterpillars |
The little black thing on the dill in this picture is an itty bitty caterpillar. |
Close-up hubby took of one of the caterpillars tonight. |
Layne has had fun checking on the caterpillars daily to see how much and how quickly they grow and change.
