I love cooking at home, but sometimes I run out of ideas and I am not good at planning ahead. A meal kit delivery service is very convenient. I received a couple kits from Home Chef to try in my home.
Home Chef provides meals that are made with fresh ingredients and come with easy to follow instructions. Their meals come directly to your home in an insulated, recyclable box.
The meals run approximately $9.95 per serving and there are 13 meals that can be chosen from a new menu every week. There is no commitment with Home Chef. You can skip or cancel at any time.
I got to try out the Shrimp and Broccoli Alfredo and also Broccoli Cheddar Soup. The instructions have beautiful color photographs included, which I love for recipes.
Here are the ingredients laid out to go with each recipe card for the two items to give you an idea of what is included with the kits.
On the back side of the recipe cards are step-by-step instructions with more beautiful color photos.
You pretty much need just the cookware and utensils to make Home Chef meals. I wish cooking was always this easy!
Each kit is to make two servings, but there was enough to feed my family of five. Granted, I do have small children yet in the home to account for the additional three.
The food was fresh and delicious. I think the alfredo dish came out looking pretty much like the included picture. My bread bowls didn’t brown quite as much as in the recipe card pictures, but they still held up well to the soup.
Cooking and prep for each meal took about 30 minutes. To learn more about Home Chef, please visit www.homechef.com.
