Hallmark Get Carded Challenge and 30% code

August 14, 2013 by Karen

GetCardedBadgeHallmark had recently allowed me to take on a challenge.  It is Hallmark’s Get Carded Challenge.  This required me to send 7 cards to 7 special people once a day for 7 days.  I think with the age of so much digital, it is more rare to physically receive a card with simply a handwritten message or gesture of goodwill.  But isn’t it special when you still do?  I think so.  I wanted to share the seven cards I mailed.

With my sister being in the military and moving a fair amount with her family (last move last mo. overseas), I thought it would be fun to send her some snail mail and just touch base on how things were going.

This one went to my co-worker.  She has had quite a few unfortunate events during this past year and has managed to keep an upbeat spirit through it all.  I thought this was just a cute way of saying to keep her head up like she always does.

This was a very pretty card from the Signature Collection.  I sent it to a sweet lady who used to be a co-worker and I regard her almost to be my second mom.  She has four grown children with their own families and works hard to stay in touch with me and my family too.

Bobby McFerrin’s “Don’t Worry, Be Happy” came out when I was in elementary school.  I sent this one to a best friend from early school days to hopefully put a little unique cheer in her day.

This card was pretty in pink with glitter – very feminine.  I sent this to my great friend from college days.  It was nice to pop something in the mail to her since we often connect online, but it was time for something with a bit more of a personal touch.

Earlier this year, I reviewed Another Chance: Where Would You Be Without One..  The author mentioned writing thank you cards to those who have been instrumental in our lives. I finally wrote a note and sent this card to my mentor, a high school teacher.

This one took a little bit of participation.  It was a birthday card with a “magic mitt”.  You can use hands, fingers, of feet and make up to two hand prints.  I sent this to my husband’s grandmother as an early birthday card.  I thought I had a finished product pic, but it is eluding me right now.  I will add it if I find it later.

This has been a fun challenge.  I’ve gotten a few thank you calls since participating from my recipients.  If you would like to take on The Get Carded Challenge, there is a code for 30% off at Hallmark.com good until 12/31/2013.  The code to use is BLOG30.

If you are a blogger and would like to participate in The Get Carded Challenge too, apply at this link.

Disclosure:  I received cards to send out and participate in The Get Carded Challenge.  The thoughts and feelings expressed are my own.  No other compensation was received.

What a fun challenge. It’s always nice to get a card in the mail, just for no reason.
