Grumpy Cat, a feline YouTube sensation, has recently debuted in her first DVD title, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, which was released last week from Lionsgate Home Entertainment. Appearing on the scene in 2012, Grumpy Cat (real name Tardar Sauce) was named the “Most Influential Cat of 2012” by MSNBC and the “Most Important Meme of 2012” by Mashable. Since then, Grumpy Cat has become a household name with its nearly 7 million likes on Facebook, over 28 million video views on its official YouTube Channel and merchandising/endorsement deals around the country. Written and directed by Tim Hill (Alvin and the Chipmunks), Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever stars Aubrey Plaza (TV’s “Parks and Recreation”) as the voice of Grumpy Cat.
In Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, Grumpy Cat lives in a mall pet shop. This little kitty has found homes in the past but unfortunately has been rejected and returned. She still secretly wishes for a family of her own.
Chrystal, a 12-year-old girl, volunteers at the pet shop and as gotten to know Grumpy Cat and the other critters of the store. One day she finds herself being able to hear Grumpy Cat and Grumpy Cat is only understood by one human, Chrystal. They develop a sometimes sarcastic friendship.
A new dog comes to the pet store who is an exotic breed and hopefully will save the pet shop’s business with his enormous price tag. This dog gets noticed by the media and many mall goers and even by a couple low life crooks who are enticed by the dog’s value and are hoping to cash in on him themselves.
We watched Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever as a family and some parts may seem a bit slow to adults, but my children loved it. Their favorite part was probably when Grumpy Cat was able to use a paintball gun to deter the crook’s from their canine theft.
Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever has a suggested retail price of $14.98. One reader will win a copy. You must be 18+ to enter and a resident of the USA to enter with the Rafflecopter form below.
