I feel so blessed to be able to participate in this opportunity again – the third annual #GivingBackPacks event. I was mailed a $25 gift card to buy school supplies and an EcoCity back pack. I am delighted to drop off these items to a local public school later this week.
There are three wonderful sponsors who made this event possible – FIJI Water, Wonderful Pistachios, and Wonderful Almonds.
Wonderful Pistachios and Wonderful Almonds come in tube packs that are great for snacking and are highly portable. They are great to munch on at home or while on the go. Wonderful Pistachios tube packs are available in the flavors of Roasted & Salted, Sweet Chili and Salt & Pepper flavors. Wonderful Almonds come in Roasted & Salted and Natural Raw.
We couldn’t survive without water and FIJI Water helps keep the family hydrated while on-the-go. FIJI Water is available in a variety of sizes, perfect for any occasion.
I recently went through pre-service orientation with about 150 other individuals to volunteer as an AmeriCorps VISTA. It gave me the opportunity to meet with others who came from varying backgrounds, each bringing their own unique strengths to the table with the common goal of helping to end poverty in our country.
Some in attendance had personally faced hard times and had even experienced homelessness. Those individuals felt the need to give back and help organizations that had helped them at one point get back on their feet. It brought me to tears, hearing what they had endured, but it was also so inspiring to hear why they were giving back. Things happen beyond our control and so it is very important to give back when we can to our friends, neighbors, and our community.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, expenses like those to buy school supplies can stretch or even break a family’s budget. #GivingBackPacks allowed me to just invest my time to hopefully make the school year a little easier for one or maybe a few students.
