I had the opportunity to recently review Spot it! with my family, which was created by Blue Orange . Blue Orange is a classic games company based out of San Francisco. They focus on exceptional design and using durable materials. Blue Orange pledges to produce high quality, eco-friendly games that are mentally stimulating and encourage family members to sign-off and unplug to enjoy old fashioned fun.
Spot it! is a card game that consists of 55 cards and each card features eight symbols on it. One and only one matching symbol exists between any two cards!
I thought I’d include a few images to give you an idea of what matching is like. Do you see the match? They both feature a “flame” or “fire” symbol.
Here is another one. See the match? They both have the word ART as the matching symbol with a slightly different size.
The matching symbols can be the same shape and same color. Only the size may be different. The first player to spot the matching symbol must call out its name and draw two new cards and place them on the table.
Spot it! has instructions for five mini party games. You can play them individually or make it into a tournament with a points system. We have had the most fun with The Tower and The Poisoned Gift so far. I have played Spot it! with adults and have been playing quite a bit with my oldest daughter who is five. She is under the recommended age, but she loves it. She enjoys the challenge of matching and blurting out the correct symbol. There is also a Spot it! Junior, which is recommended for children under age 7.
Spot it! has been a blast! It comes in a small round tin for easy and safe storage or easy to take with when traveling. The playing cards are easy to hold. Just be careful if you pair up with an aggressive player. The cards are thin and could maybe bend. Otherwise, lots of fun as two players or more.
Spot it! is for players ages 7 to adult
The party game is for 2 to 8 players
Suggested Retail: $13.99
