I think these kits are a wonderful way to feature or reignite creativity in the summer or any time of the year. With my kids out of school, we decorated t-shirts last week. Tulip Color Crafts Tie-Dye Kits provide you with non-toxic, bold colors. There are easy-to-squeeze bottles included that just need water added and shaking to mix. You don’t need to wet the shirts beforehand and the vibrant colors stay through after regular machine washing.
My children colored t-shirts with the Ultimate One-Step 5 Color Tie-Dye Kit. The bottles are prefilled with powder and there are refill packets included.
Simply uncap the bottle to mix the color, add water to the fill line printed on the bottle, and shake until the powder is dissolved. The dye should be used up within 72 hours of mixing.
With the weather being nice, we laid down a disposable table cloth and added the colors to shirts while outside. Then I bagged up the shirts individually and washed them the next day.
